The Children’s Ombudsman questioned how “unacceptable” that the independent organization “The People’s List” has used the audio of a possible abuse that occurred in a center of the National Service for Minors in its television program (Sename).
In its space in the night time strip of yesterday Friday, they were heard, as background sound, the heartbreaking screams and cries of a child that allegedly came from inside the Carlos Antúnez de Providencia Family Residence, which were revealed this week through a video recorded by residents of the sector, who accuse that these events are repetitive and that the authorities have not taken their complaints into account.
The viralization of the registry caused outrage and a protest in front of the Sename center in recent days, although the defender of Children herself, Patricia muñoz, recommended not to do so because this could have a negative impact and further affect the minors of the campus.
In this framework, the broadcast of the audio of that video in the strip of La Lista del Pueblo has also generated criticism on social networks in the last hours, to which the Ombudsman for Children joined.
Through Twitter, the agency referred to the “Unacceptable use in the electoral strip of a child’s audio, in the midst of a moment of tremendous vulnerability for him.”
“We are coordinated with the My Lawyer program, who have their legal representation, to determine the Actions corresponding “, he affirmed.
Muñoz, in turn, stated that “It is outrageous to verify that the use and abuse of the pain of others is not typical of any political sector.”
“The People’s List again setting the standard on how to violate children’s rights. Please stop!”, the lawyer summoned.
It is outrageous to verify that the use and abuse of the pain of others is not typical of any political sector! The People’s List again setting the standard on how to violate children’s rights@s! 🤬 please stop! https://t.co/u6obyNounv

The defender had already drawn attention to the List of the People since in another chapter of the strip shows a child performing a supposed magic trick that ends with an obscene gesture, the well-known “hole”, against those who were supporters of the “Rejection” in the Plebiscite last October.
“As Ombudsman for Children we make a special and urgent call to this List, and to all the candidates in the country, to respect and promote the rights of girls, boys and adolescents“, the organism maintained then.
The National Television Council, which receives the material from the television channels, does not have the powers to review or censor the content that is broadcast.
