The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved and sent to the Senate the Government’s initiative on the salary readjustment for the public sector in 2021.

The text preserves the bulk of its original rules, that is, a differentiated readjustment, as of December 1, 2020, for the officials whose gross salaries are equal to or less than 2 million pesos, the increase will be 2.7%; meanwhile, those who exceed the income margin, the increase will be 0.8%.

It also includes a covid-19 health emergency bonus for $ 200,000 to about 200 thousand employees of the public health system and one of the conflict term.

In the case of the latter, workers with liquid remuneration equal to or less than 721 thousand 187 pesos, the amount will be $ 97,657 pesos; for those who receive a liquid remuneration that exceeds the previous margin and is equal to or less than two million pesos, it will be $ 48,301.

Similarly, a special monthly bonus of up to $ 45,000 that will be applied during the year 2021 for public workers subject to the monthly readjustment coverage, for incomes of up to $ 545,000 and who work full time. This benefit will also be applicable to assistant education personnel.

Likewise, a Extraordinary bonus for nurses, midwives, nurse-midwives and other professionals collaborators who work in jobs that require 24-hour care in rotating shift systems. Along the same lines, a special assignment is established for professionals of the Legal Medical Service.

In the instance, the Minister of Finance, Ignacio Briones, pledged the Government’s effort to also include the benefit to paid workers from the public health sector who complete seven months of full-time hiring.
