The State Defense Council (CDE) issued a public statement on Tuesday in which it rejected the statements of former senator Pablo Longueira, in which he referred to the counselor of this body, María Inés Horvitz, as “the communist of the body that persecutes”.
This morning, Longueira had a morning of fury in Radio cooperative, where in an annoyed tone, he referred to the investigation that is being carried out against him in the framework of the SQM case. The former UDI militant accused him of political persecution and tried to invest himself with an image of total probity, presenting himself as the politician with the cleanest hands in Chile.
“I don’t have a backpack, I don’t have a glass roof. Put it on your head, I don’t have a backpack, compadre. I don’t care about the communists … do you know (María Inés) Horvitz? She’s the communist who is at the CDE and it persecutes me. The communists have persecuted me because they seek an image murder, “he said.
Longueira’s statements were rejected by the CDE, a body that issued a statement stating that “the State Defense Council intervenes judicially in accordance with the powers and mandate given to it by its Organic Law, in defense and representation of the interests of the State.” .
“As a Collegiate Body, it adopts its decisions with strict technical legal criteria and adherence to its rigorous internal procedures that, in criminal matters, are specified after a thorough study of the facts and antecedents present in the investigations conducted by the Public Ministry,” they closed.
