Carabineros report more than 800 people detained on the last day at the national level: 327 of them during curfew hours

During the morning of this first day of 2021, Carabineros delivered a balance regarding compliance with the restrictions that have been decreed by the Covid-19 pandemic and as a result of the New Year’s celebration, and reported more than 800 arrested in the last day.

It should be remembered that due to this holiday, the health authorities temporarily modified the curfew schedule for communes in phase 2, 3 or 4 of the Step by Step Plan. With this, and only at dawn on January 1, this restriction was in force from 2.00 to 7.00 this Friday. Likewise, a capacity was established for family gatherings and sanitary cords were implemented to prevent movement between regions.

Of course, it is important to emphasize that from today the curfew will be implemented again from 10 pm.

Regarding the police balance -which spanned from December 31 to 6:00 a.m. on January 1- it was reported that 829 people were deprived of liberty nationwide.

According to a breakdown, 502 of the arrests occurred outside curfew hours; being 148 of them in the Metropolitan Region and 354 in other regions.

While the curfew was in force, meanwhile, 327 people were deprived of liberty: 100 in the capital and 227 in regions.
