Carabineros detain 12 people during demonstrations near Plaza Baquedano | National

Carabineros reported that detained 12 people during the day this Saturday, due to demonstrations in the vicinity of Plaza Baquedano.

At about 4:00 p.m. began to congregate in the place already indicated, after a series of calls planned for today, on the eve of what will be the first commemoration of the beginning of the social outbreak on October 18.

Due to the above, the uniformed police deployed a large contingent, with the aim of preventing people from gathering at the statue of General Baquedano.

The latter, considering what happened this Friday, when the monument was painted red by protesters.

The concentration of people took place on the outskirts of the Theater of the University of Chile, while around 6:00 p.m. there were clashes between some attendees and the Special Forces of the Carabineros.

Because of this, people retreated to the Forest Park sector, moment in which the uniformed police arrested 12 people.
