Carabinieri reported this morning that a uniformed man is in serious condition after being hit by a molotov bomb in Peñalolén.

The situation occurred last night in the middle of a new attack on the police station of said commune, in facts that have been repeated since the social outbreak and that did not even stop during the pandemic.

There were around 70 people who yesterday gathered outside the police unit, who launched blunt objects and Molotov cocktails.

A video released by the institution shows that one of the incendiary elements hit a second lieutenant of the institution, who was transferred with serious injury to the Luis Tisné Hospital.

According to the Undersecretary of the Interior, Juan Francisco Galli, the new clothes used by the carabinieri helped mitigate the wounds suffered by the uniformed.

“He has serious injuries, but was the victim of a firebomb attack that he burned his body and that thanks to the materials he was carrying he could be protected, ”he said.

He added that those who throw Molotov cocktails “can only know that their action will cause serious damage and eventually can lead to death. It’s that clear ”.
