ALIBITIES OVERLOOKED BY A TELEVISION PROMOTION
There were several factors that began to raise doubts about his person: first, his insistence on urging neighbors to participate in confrontations with the Carabineros. “The main thing is to strengthen ourselves as an organization, and build a good job in the territory,” they responded.

On one occasion they asked for his identity card and on another they checked his cell phone, which he said was new, where “he had very precise contacts and photos of demonstrations, but all very recent,” recall neighbors.
At first, the agent took his suspicions with humor, but then he expressed his annoyance and to explain why he sometimes went to meetings of the organization for one week, but then disappeared the next two, he excused himself with the fact that he worked for construction contractors and many times he had to leave Santiago.
But his alibis, from his false identity, through his alleged participation in protests as “front line”, to his alleged work, collapsed for a medical emergency: a young woman who participated in the common pots attended a medical center in September, and on the TV in the waiting room he saw that Channel 13 promoted the repetition of a chapter of the program “Against the wind and tide” that had emitted a year ago.
There the young woman noticed that “Giovany” appeared, with another name -the real one- and with the uniform of the Carabineros, and with a different appearance: he had short hair and not the braids with which he infiltrated the social organization; Even in his new role, he sported blue braids, a mustache, a padlock beard, a hoop with an expansion in his ear and, after June, a tattoo on his arm alluding to social protests.
Of course, the chapter was never repeated, because Carabineros asked the private signal not to broadcast it again, as it verified Cyprus.
The Facebook profile with which he approached the organization was deleted after Ciper contacted the Carabineros.

There is a RUT and an identity card associated with “Giovany Arévalo Álvarez”, but it is a fictitious name used by a Second Corporal of the Carabineros. The institution’s response did not provide details and was limited to stating that “the carabinero is under the protection of the Intelligence Law “, so they cannot reveal any background. There was also no official response as to whether an infiltrated carabinero can promote violent actions, such as confronting the same police forces, in addition to collecting evidence of possible crimes or collecting information for intelligence analysis.
