This day, during the demonstrations that took place in the Aníbal Pinto square in Valparaíso, a journalist who was working was detained by Carabineros.
This was recorded by witnesses who were in the place, a video that was published on social networks and was later confirmed by the television channel to which the man belongs, identified as Danilo Smoked Flowers.
In this regard, from the channel, dependent on the University of Playa Ancha, they referred to the events through a statement.
“We consider that the arrest of the professional, who is also the regional president of the College of Journalists, was carried out illegally, since he was developing his professional work at the time of being detained by Carabineros officials, as he has done on several occasions and as it is public knowledge ”, they specified.
In this sense, they reported that they contacted the professional, ensuring that he is in good health and that his detention control will be during the morning of this Saturday.
In addition, they requested that the Carabineros procedure be declared illegal.
“As a result of the foregoing, in the detention control hearing to be held during the morning of this Saturday, May 2, virtually, his arrest should be declared illegal and the professional released immediately,” they concluded.
