Cannes Announces Economic Reparation for Dog Owners Affected by Eating Lot of Food | Economy

In June, Cannes -dog food brand- announced the voluntary recall of some of its products after corroborating problems in certain batches.

Subsequently, the National Consumer Service (Sernac) opened a Public consultation to gather more background. This sought to determine compensation in addition to demanding that the company take the necessary measures to to guarantee that their products are safe and suitable for consumption by pets.

In that context, this Tuesday Cannes confirmed that it will financially repair to all pet owners who were affected.

“After seven months of the unfortunate situation that occurred with some batches of our Cannes products, and working with a multidisciplinary team in search of the best way to compensate those people whose pets were affected, we want to inform you that we have reached a compensatory proposal (…) ”, Indicated the company.

He then specified that the foregoing occurred within the framework of the Collective Voluntary Process initiated with Sernac. The latter will confirm the figures referring to the repair that consumers will receive.

“The objective is to economically repair to all members of our community whose pets were affected, “wrote Cannes on his Instagram account.

Between the months of May and July the Sernac received 342 claims that targeted the Cannes brand and the LDA SpA company for health problems caused by the batch of food.

In addition, during that period the Service received 14 citizen alerts for the same reasons.
