The Evópoli candidate, Camila Merino, surprised this Sunday by winning the primaries to define the candidate for mayor for the Municipality of Vitacura, defeating Pablo Zalaquett of the UDI.

With 20.77% of the votes counted, Merino achieved 45.78%, surpassing the former mayor of Santiago who reached 21.61% and Maximiliano del Real de RN who obtained 32.62%.

“The neighbors wanted a change, if we add Camila, plus my vote is 70%, so the neighbors wanted a change (…) Vitacura is no longer from the National Renovation and it is very important,” said Zalaquett, recognizing their defeat.

As information, the president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, called Merino to congratulate her on her victory during this day.
