That Sunday a new edition of the Plaza Pública Cadem survey, a sort of weekly barometer of Chilean politics, was released.

The week saw the return to the public agenda of Pablo Longueira, after his self-exile from the political world in 2013 when he stepped down from the presidential office. The union leader confessed that he supports the option “I approve” in the next plebiscite. Before that, 17% of the universe of people surveyed supports it, and 75% disapproves of it.

At the government level, 19% approve (1 point more than the previous week) and 72% disapprove of President Piñera’s management.

This is different when querying for the government’s management of the health crisis caused by the coronavirus. Here, the positive vision comes to 42%, with which the Piñera administration reaches its highest level on this issue since the beginning of the pandemic.

On the evaluation of political figures, the president of the Medical College, Izkia Siches, now leads the approval list alone, with 60%.

Joaquín Lavín follows closely, with 58% (down 4 points). Then, Germán Codina (57%, + 5pts), Rodolfo Carter (55%, -1pt), Sebastián Sichel (53%, + 1pt), and Pamela Jiles (53%, + 3pts).
