This Sunday a new edition of the Cadem survey, the weekly barometer of Chilean politics, was released.
A definition that has been installed in the national political tables is about social democracy, after Joaquín Lavín defined himself as a supporter of this trend. Thus, 42% define Chile’s current political / economic model as neoliberal and 40% as social democratic. And about the future, 68% believe that it should be based on social democracy.
Thus, with models from other countries in sight, 28% of the universe of people surveyed would like Chile to resemble New Zealand, 17% to Sweden, 13% to Australia and 12% to the United States.
Of course, the 2021 presidential elections are already in the sights of those surveyed. In the intention of spontaneous voting, for the first time there is a triple tie between Joaquín Lavín, Daniel Jadue and Evelyn Matthei, all with 7%.
The difference? It occurs when you ask who will be the next President? There the mayor of Las Condes takes advantage and acquires 19%.
About approval to presidential administration, 21% approve and 68% disapprove, both with 1 percentage point less than the previous week.
Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, 45% approve of the government’s management in this matter, so much so that the Health team leads in a positive image of the cabinet with Minister Enrique Paris appears as the best evaluated in the cabinet (68%). They are followed by her two undersecretaries, Paula Daza (62%) and Arturo Zúñiga (61%).
