As every week, a new edition of the Plaza Pública Cadem survey is now available, which serves as a kind of photograph of politics and national news.
One issue that the survey did not avoid was the increase in the number of coronavirus infections in our country, mainly in the metropolitan region. In this regard, 57% of those surveyed believe that the main reasons are that people do not respect sanitary measures such as social distancing, use of masks, quarantines, and curfews.
Then, 29% believe that it is due to the government’s attempt to accelerate the return to normality (The “New normality”) and 11% believe that it is due to the Executive’s communication errors.
Regarding the return to class of students, only 17% support the idea of returning to face-to-face classes during the second semester; On the other hand, 47% want them to stay online and 32% prefer to end the year.
On the other hand, when asked about the employment protection law, 86% of the universe of surveyed people say they have heard of it. Of this percentage, only 23% agree that large companies can use this mechanism (9 points less than on April 23).
Regarding the same, 92% of the respondents rate the current employment situation as “bad or very bad”, reaching their highest record since March 2014.
In a true classic, there was no shortage of questions about the approval of President Sebastián Piñera’s management, while in the first week of May, 25% approved and 66% disapproved of President Piñera’s management, while 35% approved government management in the Coronavirus crisis.
