The Senate analyzed the 2021 Budget during this day. Almost all the Government’s indications to replenish resources to the rejected items advanced, except for one.
And the coup of the latter came from an official senator, since Juan Castro (RN) managed to get his indication approved to reduce the reserved expenses of the Presidency of the Republic, by half.
According to the original text of the Executive, the 2021 Budget allocated $ 1,810,834 million for reserved expenses, the execution of which must be reported quarterly to the second Special Mixed Budget Committee.
Castro, with his indication, managed to reduce that figure by 50%. “Considering the context of economic crisis that our country is experiencing, it forces us to address state spending with austerity, as the Executive has argued in the current budget discussion,” he said.
In a second ballot, it was finally approved by 12 votes in favor, 11 against and 1 abstention.
If the Executive does not insist with a similar indication or with the idea of addressing this issue in the Mixed Commission, said amount will be $ 905,417 million.
