The Social Convergence deputy, Gabriel Boric, was interviewed on Sunday night on the Zero Tolerance program, where he referred to the political contingency and a possible alliance between the Broad Front and the Communist Party.
When asked about the congratulations of the Communist Party to the elections in Venezuela, Boric indicated that he thinks that in a possible future the CP will regret its unrestricted support for the government of Nicolás Maduro.
“I have no doubt that the Communist Party in the future he will regret for having supported the situation that Venezuela is experiencing today ”, he commented.
“There is an obsession with the Communist Party and its vision regarding these issues, to which I have a difference, which I raise clearly and I do not subordinate myself to the international position of the CP, but I understand that the issues that concern us in Chile, we can have a lot of agreements ”, he added.
In the same vein, regarding his vision regarding Venezuela, he indicated that last week’s elections did not meet “democratic standards” and that human rights violations had been recorded.
“I believe that the elections in Venezuela do not meet any democratic standard, as they have indicated international reports, which have also referred to Chile, that human rights are violated ”, Held.
Regarding the future presidential race, Boric remained cautious about giving some support, but acknowledged that he would have no problem supporting Recoleta Mayor Daniel Jadue, who is a member of the Communist Party.
Boric’s sayings come in a week marked by the rapprochement between the Broad Front and the Chile Digno pact, which includes the Communist Party and the Green Social Regionalist Front, among other movements, ruling out an alliance with the former Concertación parties.
