A group of about 400 Bolivian citizens have camped for three days outside the Bolivian consulate in Chile, located in the Providencia district, hoping to return to their country.
Citizens were stranded in our country in the midst of coronavirus pandemic and they request a humanitarian transfer to be able to return to Bolivia, where they have been in quarantine for more than a month.
It is necessary to specify that people are waiting for a solution or that the government of their country provides them with a response to allow them to return.
“We are more than 400 people, compatriots from Bolivia. What we ask is that leaders of our government listen to us… We want to go to Bolivia and we are ready to quarantine ”expressed José Luis Quiñani, one of the Bolivian citizens who are on the outskirts of the consulate.
Most correspond to temporary workers who worked in Paine and Melipilla, and there are even elderly people and pregnant women.
So far, the consulate has not given them an answer, but they hope to obtain a solution this Tuesday, April 28.
