The Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe biden, affirmed this Friday, as the fourth night of scrutiny in the United States progresses, that will have a “clear and resounding victory” and announced that he has already started working for the country.
“Although we await the final results, we are not waiting to start working”, Biden said in a brief speech from Wilmington, Delaware, in which he said he had already received “a mandate to act.”
The democrat reviewed the updated data of the scrutiny that is very favorable to him and said that he will win the elections because “the numbers are clear.”
“We are going to win this election with a clear majority of the nation behind us,” said Biden flanked by his vice presidential candidate, Senator Kamala Harris.
Both received this Thursday a report on the situation of the pandemic in the United States, already preparing to face the problem when they take power on January 20 if their victory is confirmed at the polls.
In a tone totally opposed to that of President Donald Trump, who has been denouncing alleged fraud in the elections for days without proof, Biden said that the “purpose of politics” should not be a “relentless war” that seeks to inflame the conflict to solve the problems.
“His vote will be counted. I don’t care how hard people try to stop him. I won’t let it happen. The people will be heard,” Biden promised in the face of legal attempts by the Trump campaign to obstruct the vote and invalidate votes.
“Of one thing I am sure,” he added, ” a large number of the 150 million who voted want to get the virulence out of our politics. We are certainly not going to agree on many issues, but we can at least agree to be courteous to each other, to leave anger and demonization behind. “
Biden also called for unity and stressed: we have to “remember who we are”.
The Democratic campaign had called this event since morning hours, in which Harris was also scheduled to intervene, with the hope that Biden would make his first speech as president-elect.
However, scrutiny in key states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, or NevadaAlthough it seems to be favorable, it is slower than expected and is very tight, so it is not known when the winner of the elections will be officially known.
