The bank asked its clients to approach the branches only if it is “strictly necessary”, in addition to informing that the CajaVecina services, ATMs, mobile App and the website can be used normally.

Despite this, during this morning, drops have been reported on the bank’s website.

During the afternoon of Sunday BancoEstado reported on the detection of a “malicious software “ in their operating systems.

Regarding the procedure that was carried out after capturing this problem, the bank stated that “as soon as this problem was discovered, our operations and cybersecurity teams were deployed to locate, contain and solve this situation.”

In this sense, it was indicated that some of its platforms could present interference.

Normal operation in the ABIF

For its part the Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABIF), indicated that at the industry level it is “operating normally.”

“The services associated with ATMs, payments through POS (Point of Sale) and transfers between institutions are found operating normally at the industry level, “ABIF reported.

“Financial products and services in the remaining institutions are fully operational,” the statement added.

“Additionally, the industry is monitoring and taking all necessary actions to prevent and mitigate the possible impacts associated with this event,” concluded the association of banks.
