The president of BancoEstado, Sebastián Sichel, confirmed a complaint for computer sabotage after the attack with “malicious software” that affects most of the internal systems of the financial institution and that forced to close all the branches this Monday.

There is still no date to resume the operation of the offices: “We hope to do it during this week”, indicated Sichel, calling to use the remote channels.

In Congress, the Minister of the Interior, Victor Perez, spoke of a “very deep” cyber attack and that it was possible to avoid affecting people, stating that it is the first to see that a bank suffers an attack of this type.
