The Ministry of Health reported 1,531 positive cases for Covid-19 and eight deaths registered in the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) in the last 24 hours.

Of the 1,530 reported infections, 1,112 are cases with symptoms and 399 are asymptomatic, reaching a total of 567,974 and keeping in 10 thousand the number of active cases.

“Only two regions decrease their new cases in the last seven days and five do so in the last 14 days, “said the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, adding that the Magallanes Region presented a decrease in the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, but it is still the highest, while the Maule, Coquimbo, Tarapacá, Metropolitana and Biobío showed an increase in the number of cases.

He also made a call to the Metropolitan Region and Paris indicated that the measures “are preventive and we hope they will be transitory, since they are precisely intended to avoid much more extreme measures“.

In addition, he maintained that the positivity in the last week at the national level is 4.68 percent.

Meanwhile, the eight registered deaths are added to the 15,782 deaths since the pandemic began in our country.

Regarding hospitalized patients, there are 663 patients in critical care units, 491 of them on mechanical ventilation and 67 are in critical condition.

Currently, there are 290 ventilators available and in the last day 27,543 PCR tests were carried out, far from the record of 40 thousand tests that have been carried out daily previously.
