The health authorities had already announced it: there are permits, but it is important to maintain distances and measures against the coronavirus. In this context, the Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, visited Parque Araucano, in Las Condes. Precisely to control that the people who attend the venue comply with the measures.
The authority was accompanied by Mayor Joaquín Lavín and the Minister of Health, Paula Labra. Among the aspects reviewed, Undersecretary Daza supervised the use of masks by the attendees and the access protocols to protect the safety of visitors.

“The doors of this park have been opened so that people can enjoy the national holidays this September 18. I want to wish all the people many congratulations on these festivities but, in turn, reiterate the call to take care of ourselves, to be responsible to each other, “said the undersecretary.
Adding that it is important “to maintain self-care measures and sanitary recommendations such as the use of a mask, hand washing and physical distancing”. “This is the way in which we will be able to continue moving forward without forgetting that we are living in a pandemic context and that is why the insistence on respecting health measures,” reflected Daza.
Important points to remember
The authority said that it is “important to remember that people who live in quarantined communes cannot leave, except by using the usual permits available at the Virtual Police Station.” “People who are in communes in Transition can make use of the national holiday permit, for a maximum of six hours and a single day, indicating their address of both origin and destination,” she stressed.
What about the other phases? “In the case of people who live in communes in the Preparation step, as is the case of Las Condes, they do not have restrictions to leave, but they must respect the maximum capacity allowed in the places,” said Daza. “I also want to remember that a maximum of five people can be invited in closed spaces and a maximum of ten in open spaces,” he emphasized.
14,000 vehicles have had to return
Regarding the inspections in the middle of these dates, the authority highlighted that so far 14,000 vehicles have had to return to Santiago from the Valparaíso Region. He also highlighted that more than 500 health summaries have been processed, also in the Valparaíso Region.
“We are doing this throughout the country because we know that it is the only way to ensure the safety and health of people,” said Daza. Meanwhile, Seremi Paula Labra recalled that in the Metropolitan Region there will be inspectors in all communes to supervise compliance with sanitary measures.
Finally, Mayor Lavín warned that the behavior of the citizens during these days will be key to be able to continue advancing in the Step by Step Plan in the commune. “These days of national holidays are key because we are risking the possibility of continuing to advance in this context of pandemic and set back everything that we have made progress,” said the mayor.
According to Lavín, Las Condes incorporated “24 new municipal inspectors who will be monitoring the parks, squares, restaurants, botillerias.” “If the situation warrants it, because there is a prior complaint, also the addresses,” he said. “For that there was already a coordination meeting with the Carabineros, to do it jointly,” the mayor declared.
