Rodrigo Holgado can make his return to the courts after living the most difficult days of his life. The Audax Italiano forward returned to the call-ups after starring in a controversial traffic accident, a situation that has generated a stir in Chilean football.
The Argentine gunner was in preventive detention on April 28 after a crash while driving while intoxicated and that ended with a fatal victim.
Since then, his defense has been working to avoid jail and achieved, among other things, night house arrest for the duration of the investigation. This Saturday, Audax faces Curico Kingdom for a match in which the forward has been called up again.
Given the commotion generated and in order not to overshadow his return to the courts, Holgado decided to publish a powerful letter on his Instagram account. “I am aware of my mistakes and the damage I have caused. And although there are not enough words or actions to repair the damage caused, I want and need to ask for forgiveness“, he begins by explaining.
“I also want to thank my family and friends for always supporting me … And especially the Audax Italiano club and its people, for understanding that people make mistakes and for giving me a hand when I need it most.“he added.
Finally and recognizing that his return to the courts may generate controversy, he closed the matter by assuring that “although I understand their anger and pain, I will never tire of asking forgiveness from the family that I have hurt“.
Audax Italiano receives Curicó Unido this Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Bicentennial Stadium in La Florida.
