With a total of 19 people detained, another Friday of incidents concluded that, this time, had as its focus the attack on a branch of Banco Itaú located on Moneda Street.
The protests began after 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a demonstration to demand the release of the detainees after the social outbreak, however, from the demonstration, the confrontations with Carabineros which caused the total cutting of the Alameda early on.
A Peat destroyed an ITAÚ bank branch located on Moneda street to use the furniture as barricades in the main artery of Santiago.
The head of the Metropolitan area, Inspector General Marcelo Araya, stated that “once again on Fridays they interrupt the entire day, affect rights, and ended up with detainees, which has been a custom“.
“There was damage to a bank, which they entered, took out part of the furniture and used it as an incendiary barricade, which we repudiate. We had to coordinate with personnel to proceed with the dissolution,” explained the general.
As a result of the incidents, the Carabineros reported, at 10:00 p.m., at least 19 people arrested.
