At least 53 detainees left a police operation carried out tonight in the commune of Las Condes.
A large police contingent arrived on San José de la Sierra street, in the commune of the eastern sector of the RM, after several telephone calls denouncing that a clandestine party was taking place inside a house.
The Undersecretary of Crime Prevention arrived at the place, Katherine Martorell; the mayor of Las Condes, Joaquín Lavín, and the seremi de Salud, Paula Labra.
Upon arriving at the residence, Undersecretary Martorell stated that it was about “A wedding party” -which was later confirmed by the Carabineros- and that it would have started at about 3:00 pm this Friday.
Mayor Joaquin Lavin He pointed out in 24 Hours that the complaint was made at 8:00 p.m. due to annoying noises: “I arrived and found that the music was very loud. The owner of the house approached me telling me that there was a marriage, and she told me there were 25 people; I told him that the capacity is 20 in open places, that no one should leave until we count exactly how many people there were to see if the capacity was respected, because the complaint is that many more people entered ”.
The Flagrancia de Las Condes prosecutor, Omar MeridaHe pointed out that “information was received from neighbors here that a marriage was taking place that exceeded the capacity allowed by law for Phase 2. After the diligence was carried out together with police personnel from the area, it was verified that there were indeed 53 people, which exceeds the allowed capacity of 20, and therefore the occupants were arrested ”.
After the end of the operation, which ended with the transfer of those involved to the 47 Los Domínicos Police Station.
Lieutenant colonel Nelson Merino, from the Santiago Andes prefecture, pointed out that the detainees “at this time have already been registered, they move people taking the respective reservations. They will be entered, the background will be verified in the database in order to know if they had recidivism and according to the instructions of the prosecutor they will be warned or directly they will go to detention control ”.
Martorell condemned the incident, stating that “It is not tolerable after all that it has cost us to face this pandemic, of all the people who have died from this pandemic, that these types of situations continue to occur. The message is clear: no matter where it occurs, as long as there is a complaint, we will arrive and we will inspect accordingly and we will always seek the highest penalties ”.
