The English bodybuilder Dave prowse, known to have given life to Darth vader in the original trilogy of Star Wars, passed away at age 85.
The news was confirmed by his representation agency Bowington Management, who through a message assured that the artist died “After a brief illness.”
Prowse took on the role of Vader thanks to his impressive physique, however, the villain’s voice was taken over by James earl jones.
Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, regretted the news on Instagram. “It is very sad to hear that David Prowse has passed away. He was a kind man and much more than Darth Vader. Actor-Husband-Father-Member of the Order of the British Empire-3-time British Champion of Weightlifting and Safety Icon of the Code of the Green Cross. He loved his fans as much as they loved him. #QEPD, ”he wrote.
