For his part, the defense attorney for former Minister Gómez, Juan Carlos Manríquz, highlighted that this “managed to clarify two main points that had generated confusion and, in turn, very unfair accusations.”

“The first is that it was established that the Ascar program was a public policy for gathering information and then, in a second stage, applying it to residences and that at no time were public money diverted or appropriated from the residences for minors attached to the program Sename, making it very clear that this infamous accusation was never true ”, explained the defender.

And the second, he added, “is that the complete innocence of the former Minister of Justice and Defense, Mr. José Antonio Gómez, was ratified in the clearest way possible. who also provided a very active collaboration during extensive statements, and provided important information that collaborated so that the prosecution could enlist in the case of this investigation to clarify the confusing initial accusations ”.
