The army investigates the possible irregular obtaining of the Middle Class Bond by officials of the military institution, as confirmed by sources from Radio Bío Bío.
This, after the existence of Public employees -of other departments of the state apparatus-, which allegedly irregularly accessed the benefit.
Remember that the Los Lagos regional prosecutor, Carmen Gloria Wittwer, opened an investigation for the fraudulent obtaining of the Middle Class Bond, following a complaint made by the Internal Revenue Service.
This last body reported that more than 437 thousand people obtained the $ 500 thousand bonus with some inconsistency and, therefore, they must return the money or regularize their situation.
From that list, around 37,000 public officials obtained the money without complying with the requirements.
The Internal Revenue Service gave a deadline until November 30 for the beneficiaries who did not comply with the requirements to return the funds, or to present records that allow their situation to be regularized.
To date, some 15 thousand people have already returned the voucher through the website of the General Treasury of the Republic, as detailed by the SII to BioBioChile.
The Army is expected to deliver more details on the investigation this Friday, which is already underway.
