Army confirms Covid-19 outbreak in Chilean Antarctic base

The Army reported that during this day an outbreak of Covid-19 was found in the Chilean baseBernardo O’Higgins Riquelme“in Antarctica.

The institution added that “according to the above, and thanks to the timely preventive action that the institution materialized, it was possible to relieve said personnel, who, after being subjected to a medical control and After administering a PCR test, it was found that 36 men were found to be positive for Covid-19“.

The Army assured that the infected are under “constant monitoring”, thanks to the “support of the health authority of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica, managing so far to count with a favorable diagnosis and without any complications associated with the virus“.
