The official death toll in Argentina from covid-19 rose to 25,342 in the last 24 hours, with a total of 949,050 infections, reported this Thursday the Ministry of Health.
The latest count showed 421 new deaths and 17,096 coronavirus infections, in a nation of 44 million people.
Numerous social, administrative, gastronomic, commercial and industrial activities are restored in the country, except for all kinds of massive public gatherings and others that involve meetings of people in closed places.
Argentina is the fifth country in the world by number of cases and the twelfth by number of deaths, according to AFP statistics.
There is no city or town that maintains the quarantine or confinement of the first months of the pandemic, although the prohibition in the entire territory of moving without a mask applies.
Public transportation is limited to essential workers.
The main sources of contagion are now located in the provinces, with 65% of cases.
The most populated region, the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), with 14 million inhabitants, now concentrates 35% of the positive analyzes when at the beginning of the pandemic it registered 95% of the infections.
