Spotify released this Thursday one of the great podcasting bets in Chile so far. “Case 63” is the platform’s new original audio series that will envelop listeners in an enigmatic story.

Starring the actors Antonia zegers Y Nestor Cantillana, and written by Julio Rojas, the production takes us to know the incredible story of Pedro Roiter, a strange character who mysteriously comes into the life of psychiatrist Elisa Aldunate. Through medical sessions they will become involved in a disconcerting plot where time, space and delusional events will play with the minds of the listeners.

In conversation with BioBioChileZegers pointed out that this is an unprecedented experience in his career. “I had never done something like this and the truth is that I really appreciate the invitation because it was immersing myself in a new language.”

“As an actress, what I put into play is the same even if I don’t move, even if I don’t dress in the wardrobe of another being, I finally realize that being an actress is something that passes through the heart and the psychology that suddenly when a character It is as well written as the script that Julio Rojas did, there is really a psychology and an emotionality different from your own that invades you, that runs through you and that commands in every fiction that you do, and this one that was a
audio series, was not the exception for me as an actress, “he said.

Delving into the script, Zegers added: “I found it very dizzying to read and I was already looking forward to the day of the week where we would do the recording of two chapters that we did per week to be able to pass it by me. In the end, the rinse of acting, whether on a podcast or in theater series, is to pass a character through one and it is the first time that I did a podcast series and what was put into play is the same, really. Make that story go through me so that that voice is not just a voice but also conveys emotions, sensations and intensities ”.

Because “Caso 63” was recorded in full quarantine in Santiago, they had to contrive to be able to carry out this innovative project.

“We were all confined, we couldn’t even go out to shop without permission. So we created a system where they gave us devices to record, which they had to teach me to use because I am very bad at those things. We had a meeting by video call where we met with the cameras on Nestor and I, and the actresses or invited actors on the screen where we could see each other and each one generated their recording track. I found it amazing how we managed to tell stories during that quarantine, “he said.

“Every recording day was a bit of an adventure because I have young children, Nestor (Cantillana) also has young children, we had to start recording very late, at 10 at night, to have complete silence and it was like a double life , something like that ”, he added.

“We recorded it with the support of a technical team from Emisor and Spotify, we used state-of-the-art equipment, but we also did it in a very traditional way in our homes and that also generated a strength in us to want to tell it, to want to do it, despite the difficulties of this pandemic and the quarantine in which we were immersed “, he mentioned.

“I believe that all the Latin American or Spanish-speaking people in the world are going to feel very trapped with this series. It happened to me when reading it that it generated a lot of vertigo between one chapter and another, and I was really very anxious waiting for the next chapter and seeing how the story would continue. It is a science fiction series with all the elements of this genre, with a great libretto by Julio Rojas, the truth is and it is very exciting to read, very exciting to listen to and it is nice to generate a silence to listen, imagine, complete the history with their own imaginations ”, he concluded.
