The undersecretary of the Interior, Juan Francisco Galli, confirms that the antiterrorist law will be invoked for the incendiary attacks registered on Wednesday in La Araucanía.

Visiting the region, the government representative stated that three complaints will be filed for these events.

Likewise, Galli assured that thanks to the intelligence work carried out, preliminary information is available of the people who would have participated in these events, antecedents that were made available to the Prosecutor’s Office and the police that are investigating.

Five trucks were burned by unknown persons in La Araucanía in less than 24 hours.

Regarding the attacks, the first one was registered in the morning in the town of Pidima, Ercilla commune, a point where two trucks and a passenger bus were set on fire.

According to the background, a passenger bus was crossed on the road at kilometer 580.

According to what was revealed, the passenger vehicle was transporting workers from a forestry company, who had been forced to descend, and then set fire to the bus.

The second attack, for its part, took place in Collipulli, leaving three other burned trucks as a balance.

Two of the trucks would be forestry and the third would correspond to a tank truck that belonged to the Copec company, which would contain, preliminary, 10,000 liters of an oil additive.
