A brutal and moving crime shakes Argentina amid the quarantine stress that the neighboring country is experiencing due to the covid-19 pandemic.
During Monday afternoon, a subject identified as Rodrigo Roza stood on a corner and without any provocation, next to some tables in a bar, took out a knife threatening to kill some federal police officers who were passing through the Parque neighborhood.
Seconds later the confrontation begins and the unexpected attack with knife in hand. Both policemen go back, one takes out his service weapon while the other, identified as Juan Pablo Roldán, tries to avoid the knife, however a thrust hits him in the heart, which caused his death minutes later in a hospital near the place of the assault.
The attacker, meanwhile, received a couple of gunshot wounds in the leg and abdomen that finally caused his death during the early hours of this Tuesday.
“I was looking for another psychiatrist”
This same day, the mother of the young attacker, identified as Marta, spoke with Channel 9 of Argentina, where she assured that her son suffered from psychological problems.
“I was looking for another psychiatrist, but I could not find it, things of fate … You can tell that he had a psychiatric outbreak,” said the woman who added that her son’s problems “began during quarantine” and “was not well treated.
“He woke up in the morning well, he was fine,” explained the mother, who acknowledged that days before Roza had had a psychotic picture. In addition, the young man had arrived a few years ago in Argentina from Canada where he had studied psychology.
