The ANFP will determine this Saturday the fate of the match suspended last night in Curicó, where the local team beat Universidad Católica 2-0 when the game had to be suspended due to a power outage and a fire at the La Granja stadium facilities.

As noted the League manager of the Association, Rodrigo Robles, the regulation in its article 103 grants forty-eight hours to the board of directors of the organism to define the way in which the suspended game will be defined.

The ANFP’s options are to set the remaining minutes at a later date or directly sentence the victory of Curicó Unido.

However, the Catholic calendar in the Copa Libertadores does not allow including an upcoming date to complete the meeting with the Curicanos.

Match suspended due to electrical panel fire

During the halftime of the match, the problems began, when the start of the complement was delayed due to a fire in an electrical panel, from which a large amount of smoke came out.

Even so, the match resumed and in minute 50 the referee Nicolás Gamboa decreed a penalty for Universidad Católica, after a foul on Lezcano. While waiting for the confirmation of the VAR, a first voltage drop came, then a definitive cut.

Finally, while firefighters worked in the facilities of the La Granja Stadium, the venue administrator informed the players, the coaching staff and the referees that the match could not be resumed, so the ANFP he will have to reschedule or simply keep the result and deliver the three points to Curicó.

The president of the southern club, Freddy Palma explained that “the stadium has no possibility of having electricity. A major change has to be made in the entire system and a relatively quick solution could have the stadium in good condition in the next seven days so as not to operate at night, considering air conditioning, light for the CDF teams, something that the stadium does not have today. We are without electricity. “
