The Villa Alemana Guarantee Court placed Denisse Llanos, Ámbar Cornejo’s mother, in preventive detention after she was formalized for the crime of parricide.
The Villa Alemana Prosecutor’s Office formalizes Denisse Llanos this Friday, the mother of Ámbar Cornejo, who is accused of participating in the brutal crime of her daughter.
The hearing began at 11:00 hours and was carried out electronically in the Guarantee Court of the commune, and Llanos appears at a distance at the Provincial Prefecture of the Investigative Police located in the town of Curauma -to where she was transferred from the Viña del Mar barracks-.
Llanos, admitted to the psychiatric unit of a Valparaíso hospital, remained until yesterday as a witness by the Public Ministry, a situation that changed after the investigation led by the chief prosecutor of Villa Alemana, Mary Joseph Bowen.
“When she testified as a witness, she pointed out that she had this information that her partner had given her. (…) What happened is that after that with the Investigative Police we carried out different procedures to first establish what was true and what there was a lie in what she had pointed out and secondly also, what were the objective antecedents that might or might not link her to the fact “.
Thus, with photographs, planimetric reports, scientific reports, security camera review and witness statements They allowed the Public Ministry to determine the participation of the accused in the act.
For Ámbar’s crime, Hugo Bustamante, Denisse Llanos’ partner and who in the past had already been imprisoned for the crime of his then partner and her son, is detained.
Prosecutor: They had lunch on top of Ámbar’s remains
The chief prosecutor of Valparaíso, Claudia Perivancich, detailed the accounts that explain the behavior of the perpetrators: “Once the victim arrived at the home, the defendant urged her to enter the property, and once inside the house, collaborated with Hugo Bustamante in the containment of his daughter until he was able to immobilize her and leave her in the bedroom of the building, “he said.
Perivancich added that “the accused Denisse Llanos together with the accused Hugo Bustamante They hid the place where Ámbar’s body was hidden by waxing with cleaning products“.
The persecutor ended by commenting that both later called Llanos’s son, Daniel, with whom “they had lunch “on top of the victim’s remains.
However, the defense attorney, Jaime Vera, questioned the veracity of the stories: “We are talking about the credibility of the stories spilled in the different statements”, which according to the lawyer do not coincide with Ámbar’s arrival times.
