In hours this Thursday there was the arrest of Denisse Llanos, mother of Ámbar Cornejo, a minor who had disappeared in Villa Alemana and whose body was found on August 6, which is why Hugo Bustamante, a cohabitant of Llanos, was charged with his murder.
Regarding the apprehension, the Chief Prosecutor of Villa Alemana, María José Bowenindicated that this “was carried out in connection with a judicial arrest warrant issued yesterday by the Villa Alemana Guarantee Court for the participation of Mrs. Denisse Llanos in the murder of her daughter Ámbar.”
“From the arrest of Hugo Bustamante until now We have carried out, together with the Valparaíso Homicide Brigade, different proceedings that have determined the participation of Mrs. Denisse. More information regarding what these procedures are and what type of reports they are, we are going to deliver them at the hearing for the formalization and control of detention, ”added the prosecutor.
Along the same lines, she explained that “when she testifies as a witness, she indicated that she had this information that her partner had given her. It was explained to him that she had the right not to testify because she was the defendant’s partner. It was also explained to her that she could not answer questions that incriminated her and since her statement on that occasion, no antecedent emerged that incriminated her in the events that occurred ”.
Bowen added that “after that, with the Investigative Police, we carried out different procedures to establish, firstly, what was true and false in what she had pointed out, and secondly, what were the objective antecedents that might or might not link her with the fact. One can be a witness and not say anything that incriminates him as a defendant, because she did not say anything at that time. She mentioned that she was threatened with death, that she was very afraid, etc. And it turns out that with all the information that could be obtained, we understand that now we do have a history to be able to say, objectively and seriously, that she has a degree of participation in this crime “.
“We are convinced that she participated. And I am not going to advance these antecedents and evidence now but we are going to do it tomorrow, together with the regional prosecutor, in the respective hearing, which is also where it corresponds that these antecedents are aired, ”the prosecutor concluded.
