“They both decided to kill the minor.” This is the conclusion revealed this Friday by the Valparaíso regional prosecutor, Claudia Perivancich, when he described the way in which the crime of Dogwood Amber (16) in Villa Alemana. In the first instance only Hugo Bustamante He had been arrested for this crime, but the situation changed on Thursday, when PDI personnel arrested Denisse Llanos – the mother of the young woman and Bustamante’s partner – as the co-author of the crime.

This Friday was the formalization hearing against Llanos for the crime of parricide, and the prosecution reported the suspicions that exist against the woman. According to the Public Ministry, the defendant participated in both the planning and execution of Ámbar’s murder. And he even helped Bustamante hide the remains of the teenager.

According to the account made by prosecutors María José Bowen and Claudia Perivancich, Ámbar Cornejo’s bad relationship with her mother and Hugo Bustamante went back, at least, to the beginning of the year. One evidence of this is that in January the adolescent went to the concierge of the building where she lived with Llanos and her younger brother in Limache, where she requested that Bustamante be prohibited from entering, since “he is a psychopathic murderer and can cause damage to my family and my mom don’t want to understand ”.

This was how the months passed and, According to the prosecution, Llanos and Bustamante agreed to kill Ámbar. At the end of July, the defendant called the teenager and told her that she should go to her partner’s house to have her pension delivered. The agreed day was Wednesday 29 of that month.

That day, Llanos sent his son to school very early to pick up his Junaeb box. This action was already strange, since this minor never went so early to the educational precinct and this was testified by the rector of the establishment before the prosecution.

According to the Public MinistryThis was aimed at preventing the minor from meeting his sister when she arrived at Bustamante’s house., around 9.00 that morning. In that place, according to what the prosecution assures, once Ámbar Cornejo arrived at the residence, Llanos “collaborated with Hugo Bustamante in the containment and reduction of his daughter until he managed to immobilize her and leave her in the bedroom of the property.”

Although the prosecution did not explain in greater detail how it reached this conclusion, sources of the investigation indicate that in order to immobilize the adolescent, while she was resisting, Most likely, Bustamante would have needed someone’s help.

The prosecutors indicated that at around 9.40 a.m., Llanos was at the door of the residence waiting for her son to immediately leave for her Limache apartment. However, the minor insisted on going in to go to the bathroom. In that place, and according to his judicial testimony, he heard a noise in the bedroom, which he described as a false step of a person. Bustamante stood in the doorway and said it was his mother who was hanging clothes. The woman later declared that she was never there.

The following days, Bowen and Perivancich reported, were those that Bustamante and Llanos dedicated themselves to trying to cover the traces of the crime. Thus, on July 30 Llanos bought a bottle of floor paint and two containers of wax in Limache. This, previously discussed by calls in the early morning with Bustamante.

These materials, according to the prosecution, served for the defendant to better hide Ámbar’s remains, since after murdering her he dismembered her and buried her under her home. In fact, On July 30, Llanos reportedly returned to the scene of the crime to help with the clean-up.

Later, between August 3 and 6, Bustamante bought with Llanos camping items and clothing. There are audiovisual records, which show that she would not have been threatened. The latter is relevant for the Public Ministry, because when the woman finally confesses on August 6 that she knew her daughter had been murdered by Bustamante and find the remains of the minor, he indicated that he had kept silence because the man would have indicated that if he spoke he would murder her and her son.

Another point that remains to be clarified is why on the same day of the crime, in the afternoon, Llanos wrote a message to Bustamante indicating “I am calm”.

The prosecution requested the precautionary measure of preventive detention after the hearing, which was granted. According to Judge Daniela Rodríguez, “it is a particularly serious conduct due to the planning of the event, due to the harmful effects of the conduct, because the crime was carried out with contempt for the quality of daughter and minor.”
