An official of the Municipality of Antofagasta and a candidate for councilor of the Socialist Party for that same commune were surprised at a clandestine party at dawn this Friday.
The fact was revealed after the complaints of residents of Bolívar street. Carabineros personnel arrived at that place, where they met with both defendants.
The uniformed men also noticed the presence of four other people, who were coming down from the party: three women and a man. The latter was seen throwing a firearm onto the public highway, while one of the detainees was found drugs.
When going up to the apartment where the event took place, police personnel discovered five other men in a state of drunkenness.
Resignation
As a result of these events, the Municipality of Antofagasta issued a statement this day in which they indicate that the official involved presented her resignation.
“This municipal official was maliciously linked to the command of the mayor in campaign Wilson Díaz, which is not effective,” the letter reads.
“The Municipality of Antofagasta is due to the neighbors and our work should not and cannot be muddied by individual actions that contribute nothing to the effort that every community is making to face the pandemic,” they sentence.
Regarding the candidate for councilor, it was indicated that the PS would be gathering the background of the event.
