After 15 years of work, Christian Henriquez, the man behind Ruperto and Rupertina, among other characters, left the team of “Morandé with Company” that these days is preparing a new comedy show for Mega.
“I arrived with the decision made to talk with Ina (Sáez, producer). I told him I was withdrawing, that I needed to step aside. Everything was in the best of waves, because in the program I grew a lot and the program also grew with my characters, but the last time I didn’t even appear ”, he told the newspaper Las Últimas Noticias.
According to the comedian, for 4 years Ruperto’s routines only had a place once or twice a week. “I created several more characters, like Botín and it went well, but I didn’t have space to develop it further,” he lamented.
“I felt that ‘Morandé’ did not give me the space to grow, to show my work in a space that was not El Muro. In addition, Mega’s editorial line did not allow me to be more disruptive or to go into conflict with social issues “, he assured.
On this line, he deepened: “With El Patron del Pan I was able to do some things, because I was telling the truth, but I could never do everything (…) I am frustrated because I would have loved to continue in ‘Morandé” “.
“If I decided to continue, it meant staying stagnant, playing the same characters in El Muro,” said the comedian, who assures that he is working on a new television project.
