The Second Guarantee Court of Santiago ordered preventive detention for Carlos Venegas Aguilar, a 21-year-old man accused of the murder of his mother, 54, and his 18-year-old sister, an incident that occurred this morning at a home in Quilicura.

The prosecutor Manuel Zúñiga requested the formalization of Venegas as the author of the crimes of parricide and homicide, to which the court agreed.

In turn, the court decreed a 120-day investigation period.

“The arrest warrant was requested because with the information we have so far, it would be a crime of patricide and a crime of homicide. We are talking about very serious penalties, parricide starts at 15 years and one day and goes up to qualified perpetual imprisonment, “said prosecutor Felipe Olivari.

“The information we have is that no other person would have participated, the house was closed, the gate was padlocked, and in fact Firefighters had to cut the locks to enter,” concluded the persecutor.
