A 16-year-old teenager was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of stealing a car with a 6-year-old girl in its interior in the commune of Rengo, in the O’Higgins Region.
According to the information provided by the Carabineros, the incident occurred when the offender, together with another subject, got together with a man and his little daughter to agree to the sale of the victims’ vehicle.
The individuals summoned the owner of the car in the Rosario crossing sector, at kilometer 107 of Ruta 5 Sur, and together with the father and the girl they proceeded to make a tour in the vehicle.
“They return to the place where they had met and proceed to discuss the value of the vehicle, when the owner is hit in the head and one of the individuals – the one who was driving (the adolescent) – fled to the commune of Rancagua“said Major Ricardo Cáceres, from the Rengo Fourth Police Station.
The victim was able to communicate the fact to police officers of the Rosario Police Department and the operation began to locate the car with the girl inside.
After the police procedure, the car was located on Las Torres avenue in Rancagua, near the Dintrans sector, where The adolescent, seeing himself surrounded by the Carabineros, left him abandoned and fled into a field, where he was detained by Carabineros personnel.
Carabineros personnel continue to carry out procedures to identify the second subject involved in the incident, while the detainee will go to detention control this Thursday in Rengo.
