A team from Topos Chile, a non-governmental organization dedicated to rescue and humanitarian aid, detected heartbeats and breathing among the debris left by the explosion that shook Beirut on August 4.
It was a dog from the Chilean team that detected, during the night of Wednesday, a heartbeat and breathing trace in the Gemmayzeh neighborhood, according to the city governor Marwan Abboud.
According to the governor of the capital of Lebanon, there “could be survivors.”

And although that cannot be assured, according to information from the BBC correspondent, Orla Guerin, Topos Chile will continue with the search work even if there is only a 1% chance of life.
It should be noted that after the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Topos Chile managed to rescue a person alive from the rubble, after 27 days of that mega earthquake.
