This Monday afternoon a young man was shot in the Caleta Abarca beach in Viña del Mar, who died as a result of the impact, according to the Carabineros.

According to official information around 6:45 p.m., a 24-year-old young man was shot in the Roqueríos sector in the Valparaíso region spa. He was transferred to the Dr. Gustavo Fricke Hospital, for their respective emergency care.

However, as confirmed by the captain and deputy commissioner of the Viña del Mar First Police Station, Cristian Lobowski, the man entered deceased to the hospital compound.

According to the captain, preliminarily the young man would have died due to a ballistic impact to the chest. In addition, he pointed out that an extensive operation is being carried out by Carabineros personnel “throughout the coastline”, this in order to find those responsible for the incident.

The Public Ministry prosecutor determined that the PDI Homicide Brigade will be in charge of investigating the event.

At the time of closing this note there is no information regarding the perpetrators.
