Many people were able to observe streaks of light in the sky on Friday and Saturday night and marvel. Natural phenomenon, airplane procession or UFO appearance? None of this since the explanation is very simple.

Actually it’s the set of satellites Starlink from the SpaceX company, owned by the American Elon Musk. Some sixty satellites were sent into space on Thursday to join the procession already present since 2019 some 550 km from Earth. The goal is by 2025 to deploy a “constellation” of approximately 12,000 communication satellites to provide the Internet to the entire planet.

If you missed the phenomenon, it will also be visible this Sunday night. The FindStarlink site also lets you know the exact time of the passage based on your position. In Montpellier, you will have to be attentive at 10:03 p.m. and at 10:06 p.m.
