This morning the Minister of Transport, s Gloria Hutt, together with the holder of Public Works, Alfredo Moreno, and the Secretary General of the Civil Aeronautics Board, Martín Mackenna, presented the new passenger temperature control chamber which will complement the work of the Sanitary Customs of Santiago airport.

Minister Moreno explained that this new technology can detect those who exceed the temperature of 37.8ºC in an area of ​​up to three meters, thus also not having to have contact with the passenger being evaluated.

This provides “greater security for people who have to travel, since it is guaranteed that passengers meet all the requirements ”.

In this sense, the head of the Transport portfolio explained that will conduct a pilot test of this technology in the San Borja passenger terminal in the commune of Estación Central, and this will allow you to replace the controls that are currently performed.

Hutt added that sanitary control measures will be maintained as daily activities are returned to places such as shopping malls or subway platforms once normal activities are restored under the government’s Safe Return Plan.

On the other hand, the head of the MOP explained that for the next long weekend nor will measures be implemented to avoid congestion on the country’s main roads, if not rather, it will cooperate with the sanitary measures decided by the Ministry of Health.
