The morning of this Saturday, strong winds were recorded in the rural sector of Manzanares, in the commune of Renaico, La Araucanía region.
After the passage of the meteorological phenomenon, the neighbors reported the blasting roofs, falling power lines and trees, as well as destruction in chicken coops and greenhouses.
This situation mobilized municipal personnel to that sector to draw up a cadastre of the affected people, according to the mayor Juan Carlos Renilao.
“Strong winds hit the Manzanares sector and at this moment the municipal personnel are evaluating the damages that have occurred. It destroyed several spaces, part of dependencies of the Manzanares high school. We still do not have a balance of the losses suffered by this unusual wind storm, (but) according to our neighbors this has never happened ”, related the communal chief.
For his part, the regional director of the Onemi, Juan Cayupi, stated that this occurs within the framework of a Preventive Early Warning that had been announced for the northern part of La Araucanía, as well as for the Bío Bío.
Likewise, he explained that no injured people have been registered and only structural damage.
