Matt Hardy | If you’ve been watching the latest episodes of WWE SmackDown up close, you should have noticed that WWE features a video series about Jeff Hardy, who recently returned to the blue mark after months of absence. The series titled ‘The Jeff Hardy Story’ focuses on The Charismatic Enigma’s life as a Superstar, as a father and husband, and on how he defeated his demons.
Matt Hardy appears again in WWE after his departure
Tonight’s episode was titled ‘The Redemption’ and introduced us to how Jeff found his way back to WWE and set out on the path to redemption. Part of the series included footage of Jeff Hardy and his older brother Matt Hardy returning to WWE at WrestleMania 33 as The Hardy Boyz.
Matt Hardy was fired by WWE in March and is currently signed with AEW where he is involved in a fight with Chris Jericho. Given the obvious nature of the rivalry between AEW and WWE, Matt tweeted that he had received many tweets claiming that he was “reluctantly” on WWE television.
AEW is aware of Matt Hardy’s appearance on WWE programming. However, Matt clarified that AEW knows that he appeared on tonight’s WWE show on SmackDown and that they are perfectly in line with that.

Matt Hardy, who has brought back his character ‘Broken’ on AEW and challenged Jericho to a fight on The Hardy Compound a few weeks ago on Dynamite. Although Jericho has yet to respond to The Broken One’s challenge, the match can be determined to occur at some point.
