The controversies continue in Colo Colo after Black and White’s decision to accept the Employment Protection Law, well one Letter sent by the board to club officials reflects that on April 7 it was announced that wages were to be lowered without negotiation.
The letter signed by the Black and White staff, released by La Tercera Newspaper notes that “This Board expects not to fire any official, employee or any person who works in the Club. Given the above and in order to avoid any economic or financial situation that complicates our institution, we are obliged to take measures -which we know are not pleasant- and that imply a substantial reduction in the salaries of all the officers and employees of the club from April 1, 2020”
This paragraph gives the reason to the panel, that denied Black and White, assuring that the officials did not accept the reduction of wages, but it was imposed by the concessionaire.
It is that President Aníbal Mosa himself when announcing that they would suspend the contracts of the campus for not reaching an agreement, said officials had not spoken out against the measure.
As revealed by the aforementioned media, together with the letter delivered to each worker, a form was attached with “An example of what your remuneration will be from April 30 to December 31, 2020. In this amount, one half of what is being discounted will not be returnable.; the other half will be reimbursed – in equal installments – from January 1 to September 30, 2021. “
Precisely the decision not to return all of the discounted wages was what prevented the negotiations with the players from coming to fruition.
Blanco y Negro plans to carry out this Wednesday the procedure to suspend the contracts of 25 players from the professional team.
