A driver of a parcel delivery company was shot dead this Wednesday in the capital, after being the victim of an attempted robbery.

The incident occurred on Calle Nueve de Enero, commune I mirror it, when criminals who were mobilizing in a truck tried to steal a Starken van by demanding its driver to get off the mobile.

The victim ignored it, so one of the assailants got out of the cargo vehicle and shot him in the thoracic area.

The wounded man was quickly carried by his pawn to the HRH Julio Acuña Pinzón, but died from the severity of his injuries.

Major Gabriel Riquelme, commissioner of the 11th Lo Espejo Police Station, told La Radio that the crime occurred during the morning of this Wednesday.

He added that, by order of the Prosecutor’s Office, it will be the Investigative Police that investigates what happened and that for now there are no detainees.
