Last Monday, and through social networks, a video where a minor is heard crying inside the Carlos Antúnez Family Residence. A fact that caused a commotion among the residents of Providencia, who denounced the situation as it was heartrending screams with which the child asked for help.
Due to this event, during the day of this Tuesday Teams from the Children’s Ombudsman’s Office and the National Service for Minors (Sename) went to said home, in order to gather background information on what happened.
According to Carla Leal, regional director of Sename, “we are in the gathering of all the antecedents to be able to check from the regional direction that the protocol has been acted upon,” adding that “In the first instance (what happened) is a dysregulation of a child”.

While the Ombudsman for Children, Patricia Muñoz, pointed out that “we have verified that the protocol was not activated properly. These events occurred yesterday, and once again we verify that there is not the proper specialization to intervene in situations faced by children on issues of emotional decompensation ”.
On the other hand, from the Metropolitan Sename they released a statement in which they assured that “the images broadcast concern and move us, since our main objective is and will always be to protect the rights of children and adolescents.”
As a result of this, they reported that “We have started an investigation and urgently request the images of the residence”.

Finally, they explained that “according to preliminary information, the The problem arises as a result of a serious family situation that affected one of the children, but it is important to report that the children are currently well ”.
