After a meeting with representatives of free trade fairs and supply centers, the Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, thanked her for her willingness to collaborate in the face of the restrictions established by the coronavirus pandemic.
Daza also specified that the suspension of the general permission to travel for the weekend announced earlier will only apply this Saturday and Sunday.
“In no case is this a setback within what we discussed during the morning”, asserted authority.
The undersecretary stated that “This had to be as short as possible. We talked about the importance of this being within the March Plan that we have defined and that is why today we announce that we are going to do it this weekend because it is a tough, strict measure ”.
While the Undersecretary of Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell, maintained that there is “The obligation to make an effort as a society in these remaining days of March to really contain this pandemic.”
The undersecretary explained that only last weekend about 4 million general permits were recorded.
“It is important to remember in an emergency, people do not require a permit,” Martorell also noted.
Likewise, Martorell stressed that the permit that allows transfer for boys and girls whose mother and father do not live together is not suspended, the permission for medical treatment or the possibility of departure of children and TEA persons is not suspended. “What is suspended is the general permit”, emphasized.
In turn, the Undersecretary of Agriculture, José Ignacio Pinochet, pointed out that “Today difficult measures were announced that as a society we have to abide by.”
Pinochet pointed out that “a very good dialogue” was held with the free fair trade union.
“They make a sacrifice and they are going to support this measure”, said the undersecretary, calling people to do their shopping during the week.
“Now, Undersecretary Daza has clarified in this meeting that This tough measure of suspending individual permits over the weekend is going to be lifted for the following weekend. That gives us more strength for this weekend, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28, to make a monumental effort so that as Chileans we really feel proud of the difference we can make, “she said.
